Silverson - Powder and Liquid High Shear Mixers
Silverson has grown to become a world leader of High Shear Mixers, having customers in over 150 countries and representation in over 50 countries around the globe, such as Advanced Packaging Systems for New Zealand.
Time after time, organisations specify Silverson mixers as the “standard” equipment for their manufacturing process. Advanced Packaging Systems supplies Universities throughout New Zealand with Silverson Laboratory Scale Mixers, to assist in the creation of new product formulations.
Key Features
Expertise as standard. When you choose Silverson you get more than just a mixer, you receive mixing solutions. Their unmatched level of expertise is transferred through Advanced Packaging Systems to ensure that you receive the most suitable mixer for your application.
Silverson mixers are exceptionally fast, reducing processing times by up to 90%, when compared with conventional agitators and mixers.
The advantage of installing a Silverson for mixing, is that it can perform all of the duties that may have required several different pieces of process equipment in the past. The range of mixing applications that can be performed by any one Silverson mixer are:
- Blending
- Disintegrating
- Emulsifying
- Homogenizing
- Suspending
- Solubilizing
- Particle Size Reduction
Key Equipment Example
The Silverson L5 Series Laboratory Mixer is the latest development in High Shear Mixing. They are ideal for all routine laboratory work, research and development (R&D), QA analysis, and small scale production across all industries.
Advanced Packaging Systems holds stock of the Silverson L5M-A Laboratory Mixer, offering next day despatch throughout New Zealand.
L5M-A Laboratory Mixer
The versatile L5M-A Laboratory Mixer features touch pad control with a digital tachometer displaying RPM, an amperage display and a programmable integral timer. These functions are invaluable when creating formulations and reproducibility is required.
The L5M-A can be connected to a computer via an optional USB port for use with the Silverson “DataLogger” program. Allowing monitoring and recording of speed and power draw during operation.
The L5M-A comes complete with the standard two frame arm mixing assembly. This includes a General Purpose Disintegrating Head, Square Hole High Shear Screen, Standard Emulsor Screen, and Axial Flow Head. Advanced Packaging Systems holds the standard assembly in stock, and can supply various other interchangeable assemblies on request.

IMACO - Filling and Labelling Machines
The IMACO and APS partnership brings a wealth of knowledge of liquid filling and labelling systems. IMACO systems can work independently as stand-alone or be a part of an automatic filling and labelling line. There are many customisation options to meet your requirements.
Filling Machines
The filling machine range can dose by various means, including mass or magnetic flowmeters, positive displacement pumps, through to dosing by a weighing bridge or volumetric piston pumps.
Labelling Machines
The labelling machine range accommodates many formats and container types, and the design minimises downtime when a changeover is necessary. Labelling options include front, back, top and bottom application, wrap-around, along print and apply online, and coding.
Key Equipment Examples
Polaris FM – automatic linear filling system
Polaris FM is an automatic linear filling system with a dosing unit that is designed to fill liquids by means of flowmeters automatically. The flowmeters are distinguished by their high reliability, minimal maintenance costs and long lifespan. Depending on the type of product being filled, you can use either mass or magnetic flowmeters.
Magnetic flowmeters are designed for products with a higher conductivity than 12µS (detergents, body soaps, shampoos, ketchups etc.).
Mass flowmeters measure the weight of the filled product and thereby eliminate the effect of temperature on the measured dose. The weight does not change at different filling temperatures. Mass flowmeters fill non-conductive (distilled water, oil etc.) and flammable (thinner, alcohol etc.) products.
