Standard In-Line Mixers
The General Duty Silverson In-Line Mixer is robustly built for aggressive and hazardous chemical service. Offering minimal maintenance yet providing some of the highest rotor tip speeds and shear rates the industry has seen.
Having self-pumping capacities of up to 20,000 litres per hour. With options for jacketing for use with temperature sensitive products. Along with product contact parts constructed from non-standard materials such as hastelloy, titanium and hardened steels.
How it works
The beauty of the Silverson In-Line Mixer lies within its heart – the special high performance rotor/stator mixing head. The advantages of this mixing head design for the processor stems from the multistage mixing/shearing action as materials are drawn through the workhead.
Stage 1
As the rotor blades rotate at high-speed within the precision-machined mixing workhead, liquid and solid materials are drawn into the centre of the workhead by the powerful suction exerted.
Stage 2
Materials are then driven by centrifugal force towards the periphery of the workhead where they are milled into fine particles by the precision-machined clearance between the ends of the rotor blades and the inner wall of the stator.
Stage 3
Intense hydraulic shear occurs as the materials are forced, at high velocity, out through the perforations in the stator and through the machine outlet into the pipework. While simultaneously drawing fresh materials into the mixing head to maintain the mixing and pumping cycle.

High Viscosity In-Line Mixers
Specially designed for processing high viscosity products, the Silverson Ultra Hygienic High Viscosity In-Line Mixers (UHS-HV) offer a much higher flow rate than the General Duty range.
The UHS-HV series offer all the advantages of the standard Ultra Hygienic (UHS) range but differ with the addition of a “pumping rotor” which substantially increases the mixer’s self-pumping capacity.
As the viscosity rises, the flow rate is maintained, often eliminating the need for an additional feed pump when processing higher viscosity products such as gels, creams, gums and thickeners.
Each mixer is designed and built to the highest possible engineering standards. With strict tolerances between the rotor and stator to achieve super fine and smooth emulsions to specially balanced motors and precision ground shafts. The shafts are finish turned in-house to ensure vibration free running, given the tight tolerances between the rotor and stator.

The Silverson Ultra Hygienic In-Line Mixers (UHS) are designed to comply with FDA and cGMP guidelines. Silverson Ultra Hygienic mixers are 3-A TPV (Third Party Verification) Certified and are built with EHEDG Certified Mechanical Shaft Seals.
They are ideally suited for industries where advanced Clean-In-Place (CIP) and Sterilise-In-Place (SIP) facilities are required.
Specially designed to offer further versatility with multistage rotor/stator configurations, providing substantially faster mixing times by reducing the number of recirculation passes required.
